Chapter History

History of Megan’s Society – San Enrique
(Mega Eta Delta Chapter)

The Founding Years (2012–2014)

The presence of the Megalith Nu Sigma Phi in San Enrique began in 2012 through the efforts of BM John Lexter Muyco. A former student of Passi Trade School and a member of the Mega Epsilon Gamma Chapter since 2008, BM Muyco pursued his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Iloilo State College of Fisheries – San Enrique Campus (ISCOF-SEC) with a vision to establish the fraternity in his new academic home. On June 20, 2012, he recruited BM Jayfer Amoyo and BM Regie Cartagena, followed by BM Elmer Ostraez on July 3. Their acceptance took place on August 18, 2012, at CRCI Beach Resort in Banate, Iloilo. Later that year, on September 18, BM Erick John Prion and BM Julysis Padrones joined the fold, with BM Silvestre Cabillos following ten days later. Prion and Cabillos were accepted on December 15, 2012, in Dumarao, Capiz. Recruitment continued in 2014 when BM John Philip Causing and BM Randolf Alemania entered on July 10, followed by BM Reynaldo Pabilona Jr. on September 5. Their formal acceptance took place in later years, with Causing accepted in 2016 and Alemania and Pabilona in 2017.

Dormancy and Public Presence (2015–2018)

After these early years, the chapter entered a period of hibernation. Despite this, its presence remained visible through the active participation of members in local government programs, town parades, and youth- and community-centered initiatives. In 2018, a new spark was ignited with the entry of BM Diamond Oro, a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management student at ISCOF-SEC, who would play a pivotal role in the organization’s revival.

The Golden Revival (2019)

The year 2019 became the golden age of the Megan’s Society in San Enrique. With BM Diamond Oro serving as Acting Grand Megan of ISCOF-SEC, recruitment surged under a renewed spirit of brotherhood, adherence to the Anti-Hazing Law, and strong alumni support. A new wave of members, including BM Phillip Palomaria, BM John Paul Bretan, BM Renzo Louie Napire, BM Charlu Kent Quibingco, BM Peter Paul Sonido, BM Jocel Bisen, BM Mitche Casera, BM Jhon Mark Borcillo, BM Roberto Dalipe, SM Aisel Pama, BM Darwin Dasmariñas, BM Al Francis Marmolejo, BM Steve Marmolejo, BM Mike Palomo, BM Andrew Palomo, BM Leo Palmes Jr., BM Dexter Burcag, BM Gerardo Treyes, BM Edrian Dela Peña, BM Glen Mark Patinio, BM Clarie Dale Jocson, and BM Robe Jan Ivan P. Pagulong, were formally accepted on December 8, 2019, at Yviela Restaurant in Passi City, Iloilo. This marked the first-ever acceptance ceremony held in Passi City. On December 14 of the same year, BM Bryan Paltuob was accepted at Sara, Iloilo.

The Conferment of Mega Eta Delta (2020)

Through the persistence of its officers, led by BM Ivan Pagulong as Interim Alumni President and Founding President, the San Enrique group was formally conferred with the Greek name Mega Eta Delta on November 22, 2020. The conferment was granted by National Chairman BM Ponciano Taray with the support of BM Eleazar Pedregosa. The awarding ceremony, held at Talinab Hall in San Enrique, was attended by Local Youth Development Officer Jomar Dalen, representing Mayor Rosario Mediatrix P. Fernandez, alongside BM Pedregosa. Following the conferment, elections were held, electing BM Julysis Padrones as Alumni President and BM Charlu Quibingco as Collegiate President. On December 21, 2020, Megan’s Society San Enrique reached another milestone when it was accredited as a Civil Society Organization (CSO) by the Municipality of San Enrique, becoming the first and only fraternity and sorority organization officially recognized by the LGU.

Strengthening the Chapter (2021–2023)

On November 21, 2021, the Mega Eta Delta Chapter celebrated its first founding anniversary at CRCI Beach Resort in Banate, Iloilo. On June 21, 2022, the chapter held its first acceptance ceremony within San Enrique at Palabrica Hall and Studio. The event was graced by BMs Eleazar Pedregosa, Rene Prado, Herzl Andalajao, Ivan Pagulong, Rheegie Jimenez, and SM Kieth Pastol, and welcomed nineteen new members who successfully completed the process. The chapter also marked its presence in the San Enrique Youth Summit 2022 at ISUFST San Enrique Campus on May 28, 2022, strengthening its engagement with local youth. On February 11, 2023, the chapter conducted its second special acceptance ceremony.
